Why Choose Invisalign?
-
We all want straight teeth and now we can achieve this at any age! Invisalign is a clear and modern alternative to traditional braces. It is a discreet and non-invasive orthodontic system that will give you the beautiful smile that you’ve always wanted.
The key steps in Invisalign treatment in our office:
Initial Consultation
The process often begins with an in-person or virtual
initial consultation, during which our provider assesses your dental condition and
discusses your treatment goals.
Digital Impressions
If you decide to proceed with Invisalign treatment,
digital impressions are taken using advanced 3D scanning technology. These
digital impressions serve as the basis for your treatment plan.
Treatment Planning
Our dentist creates a customized treatment plan
based on the digital impressions and your treatment goals. We use specialized
software to simulate the planned movements of your teeth
Video Discussion
We schedule a video discussion to review your
treatment plan with you. This can be done through video conferencing platforms
like Zoom, Skype, or other secure communication tools.
Visualizing the Plan
During the video discussion, the dentist shares the
computer-generated 3D model of your treatment plan. This allows you to visualize
how your teeth will gradually move into the desired positions over the course of
treatment.
Discussion and Questions
You have the opportunity to ask questions,
express any concerns, and discuss your treatment plan with our dentist. The
dentist can explain the steps of the process, the expected duration of treatment,
and the results you can anticipate.
Approval
If you are satisfied with the treatment plan and have no further
questions, you can provide your approval during the video discussion. This
approval signifies that you are ready to proceed with your Invisalign treatment.
Aligner Fabrication
Once you’ve approved the treatment plan, we
proceed to fabricate a series of custom-made Invisalign aligners based on the
plan’s specifications.
Treatment Commences
You receive your first set of aligners and begin
wearing them according to the prescribed schedule. Typically, you’ll wear each set
of aligners for about a week before moving on to the next set.
Regular Check-Ups
Throughout your treatment, you’ll have regular inperson
appointments with us to monitor your progress, make adjustments, and
receive new aligner sets.
Completing the Invisalign
is an exciting milestone, but it's
essential to follow up with a comprehensive assessment and the necessary steps
to ensure the stability of the results.
1. Completion of Invisalign Treatment:
Once you have completed the prescribed series of Invisalign aligners and achieved the desired tooth alignment, you are ready for the next steps.
3. Final Assessment and Retention Discussion:
- Have a discussion with you to assess their satisfaction with the treatment
results.
- Address any remaining concerns or questions the patient may have.
2. Comprehensive X-ray and Exam:
- Conduct a comprehensive dental X-ray and examination to assess the overall health of the teeth, gums, and jaw.
- This step helps identify any potential underlying issues that may need to be addressed before proceeding further.
4. Retainer Evaluation:
- Examine your teeth to determine the best type of retainer for their specific
needs. Common options include traditional removable retainers and fixed retainers.
- Consider your lifestyle and preferences when recommending a retainer type.
5. Retainer Scanning:
- If a removable retainer is recommended, use digital scanning technology to create a precise digital impression of the patient's teeth.
- This digital impression will serve as the basis for the fabrication of a custom-fit
retainer.
7. Instructions and Education:
- Provide you with detailed instructions on how to wear and care for the retainer.
- Emphasize the importance of consistent retainer use to maintain the results
achieved during Invisalign treatment.
6. Fabrication of Retainer:
- Based on the digital impression, fabricate the custom retainer. It is essential that the retainer fits snugly and comfortably to ensure effective retention.
8. Scheduling Follow-Up Appointments:
- Schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress with the retainer.
- These appointments are essential to ensure that the teeth remain in their newly aligned positions.
Invisalign replaces the old, unattractive metal braces so that you can look your best while your smile is straightened in style. This treatment is discrete and convenient and allows you to eat, brush and floss with ease. Invisalign gives you the flexibility to easily remove your aligners for special occasions and social events. There are no irritating metal wires or bands – most of your friends won’t even notice that you are using Invisalign – they’re that invisible!
How Does Invisalign Work?
-
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable retainers that are custom-fitted to your teeth. The clear aligners are changed every two weeks so that your teeth move little by little to straighten your teeth. You’ll visit the office once every two to eight weeks so that we can ensure your treatment is progressing as planned. The time span of treatment averages 5-12 months, using 10 to 24 aligners.
It only takes a few simple steps to get your Invisalign started. First, we’ll make a 3D computer image by taking an impression of your teeth using a scanner. This scan uses advanced computer and imaging technology that will give us an immediate before and after simulation of your teeth so you can see the incredible results before you even begin. From here your case will be sent directly to Invisalign where your individual aligners will be fabricated. After one to two weeks, you’ll come back to the office to receive your aligners. You’ll be given several sets of aligners that you change every two weeks from the comfort of your own home. This continues the process of restructuring your teeth until your teeth are in the desired position and you have your beautiful smile!
